I call this
The Tanabe Door Project
There is a Entry Door, a Rear Door, and a Closet Door
The exteriors exhibits straight grain panels<
with highly figured Curly and Burl Redwood interior panels
The doors are made of vertical grain Mahogany

the inlays are VG Redwood

The glass "grids" are half-lapped solid Mahogany

The blonde wood is Mendocino Cypress which is treasured by the Japanese, as most similar to Katsura wood, which is used in GO game boards

ALL exterior panels are conservative vertical grain (sawn) Old Growth Redwood

BUT .... All of the interior panels are visions of Burl and Curly Redwood

......... no so sedate!

here is Curly Redwood and "Bird's Eye" Redwood
