Here one of two doors I call "The Osprey"

I am currently offering it For Sale

One door is made of Golden California Oak
and the other door, when completed, is Old Growth Redwood

This Osprey is made of quarter-sawn California Golden Oak
The panels are bookmatched curly Old Growth Redwood
The glass is solar-cool bronze and appears as a gold mirror glass is sunlight
The glass units are tempered and thermal

The "eyebrow" is bent laminated Golden Oak

The Osprey door

The glass is a dark bronze from the inside

The outside of the glass appears as
a Gold Mirror and creates a beautiful privacy glass

The panels are 1-3/8" thick
they are bookmatched curly Old Growth Redwood

the upper panel is "butterflied" Old Growth Redwood

The "eyebrow" is bent laminated Oak

as you can see........the "wings" is suspended off of the doors surface

Here is the Golden Oak door ..... ready to glue up.
One more rail and tenons for the Oak door !!

The doors will stay clamped for at least 3 days before removing he clamps

A sample of the glue is left in the tub to make sure it has cured properly

here the panels, for both doors, are curing between 4 coats of my varnish-oil
here ...... the last coat of varnish-oil is applied and "soaking" ....... check out the beautiful grain !!
